Business Development Lead (Midwest)
OUR ORGANIZATION
Whitney Veigas is an experiential graphic design, planning, and implementation firm with the belief that great architectural signage programs facilitate meaningful and important human experiences. We design, supply, and install interior and exterior signage and environmental graphics for clients across a broad range of sectors. Our primary market areas are New England and the Midwest, but we are capable of offering design services nationwide.
THE ROLE
The Business Development Lead (Midwest) is a dedicated professional who has a deep understanding of the signage industry and a proven track record of helping businesses increase their sales numbers, with a specific concentration on the Midwest U.S. region. They will work closely with the Management Team to identify new business opportunities and lead the sales process from initial contact through conversion.
Daily Responsibilities:
Respond to sales inquiries
Identify and qualify new project leads and opportunities
Develop relationships with potential clients in the Twin Cities and Midwest areas
Maintain relationships with existing clients
Assist in writing proposals
Manage the sales process and improve conversion rate
Participate in handoff meetings after contract has been secured
Track project progress and work with the Operations team to manage the billing process in a timely manner
Collaboration with colleagues at all levels to advance the sales and business development process
Strategic Responsibilities:
On a more strategic level, you will work with Management to create and implement a business development plan designed to reach or exceed our annual bookings goal. This plan might include things like:
New market areas (both geographic and project type): for instance, we may decide to focus more resources on a different geographic area, or try to increase our corporate office fit-out work.
Potential clients in existing areas: for example, identifying higher education institutions or General Contractors that would be open to working with us
Other development channels and opportunities
We Are Looking For People With:
5+ years' experience in sales (experience in architectural signage and/or the AEC industry is a plus)
Good understanding of the construction process, and the various players (architect, owner, general contractor).
A proven track record of sales and business growth success
An organized, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial mindset and approach
Fluent knowledge of the Google and Microsoft software suites
Excellent written and oral communication skills
This role is a full-time, hybrid position that requires 1 day/week of work out of our Minneapolis office with some travel to client sites.
