Scope Design

Whitney Veigas was asked to design primary monument and secondary wayfinding signage for Watertown Exploratory Labs (WELL), a cutting-edge, LEED Gold, life science campus located just outside of Boston. The project reinvigorates a historic industrial complex as a vibrant environment for research, innovation, and collaboration.

The primary monument sign establishes a strong visual identity and sense of arrival at the new main entrance, while a series of secondary wayfinding elements resolves circulation challenges and strengthens connections to the adjacent bike path and surrounding neighborhood.

Through cohesive form, material, and placement, the signage system complements the architecture and landscape, creating a unified visual experience that reflects WELL’s spirit of exploration, sustainability, and discovery.
