The 1515 Comm Ave. project consists of two adjacent residential buildings: 1515 Comm Ave, an 8-story condominium with 102 units, and HEW at 1515, a 7-story multifamily rental building with 150 units. Whitney Veigas was hired to design and implement interior, exterior, and garage signage for both properties. While part of the same development, each building has its own distinct identity, featuring a unique and sophisticated signage program.

Our approach combined the client’s brand vision with a highly collaborative design effort among our teams. At 1515 Comm Ave, metallic brass and strong, slanted elements were utilized to create an atmosphere of luxury while reinforcing the angular 1515 brand. At HEW at 1515, our use of wood veneer made for a simple yet refined aesthetic. 

As an additional brand expression, we created custom icons for amenities throughout the buildings, such as the art gallery and conference rooms. Within shared spaces, like the garage, a neutral and standardized color palette was implemented, linking the two buildings.
